The Jumping Machine

I had an off day earlier this week and Maximus was having a hay-day in his jumper.  Lucy tried to pull me away, but my time was split entertaining everyone.  Check out the video and enjoy the show.

Textures ... in toys and food

I had most of last week off before my next stint of 6-day weeks for 6 weeks, so I was able to spend a lot of time with Maximus most days.  We did a lot of time in his jumper, which he's really taken to.  He can almost touch the ground, so I think in a few weeks we can take the box out from underneath his feet.  It has a ton of things to keep him busy.  From a Spanish-speaking, multi-colored flashing keyboard to a chewable fish. It has it all...of course.  He's gotten much better balance over the past month or so and should be running in no time.

Max also took another big boy step in life by having his first taste of food. We started organic brown rice cereal this weekend.  To be technical, I wouldn't necessarily call it cereal but breast milk with flakes in it.  To get Max used to eating, the cereal is very thin and just ran down his chin most of the time.  Luckily his plastic bibs collected it in their nifty pockets.  Needless to say he didn't eat much but he did enjoy it and I guess that is all we could really ask for at this stage.  We probably won't try any veggies or fruit until our checkup with our pediatrician on March 1st.
